About the EcoNorfolk Foundation

EcoNorfolk Foundation is a non-profit organisation, founded by environmental lobbyist Denise Quintal. The Foundation is dedicated to promoting ecologically sustainable development in and from Norfolk Island, and also to assist in advancing the science of sustainability with the wider international community.

The EcoNorfolk Foundation's role within the community is to advocate the preservation of natural resources through education, publicity campaigns, research and development. With its involvement in projects such as Footprinting and Experimental Prototype Communities, the EcoNorfolk Foundation hopes to pilot leading edge, progressive research and in turn, to achieve its objective in fostering awareness of the global context of local environmental issues.

An essential aspect of the EcoNorfolk's work is to merge the education, scientific research and development with the everyday activities and practices of the Norfolk Island people. In essence, to unify environmentally sustainable practices with the preservation of a unique culture whose traditions and lives are symbiotic with the island and the ocean around her.

The EcoNorfolk Foundation's goal is to lead the way for sustainability in the South Pacific and also to leave a legacy and culture of interdependent sustainability between Norfolk Island and its people for future generations.
